Man from India finds lost family using Google Earth!!
Saroo- then and now

Saroo Brierley from India in 1986 at the age of 5 was begging with his older brother, by taking a wrong train which was going in a wrong direction he separated away from his brother and family because during his journey he went to sleep and after 14 hrs of sleep found himself in a notorious slum of Calcutta ( now Kolkata ).
A grown up and successful Saroo Brierley

At first he lived on streets, begged with the local children, for a month tried to find his way back home, nearly drowning in to river Ganges and nearly being abducted by a man who intended to sell him as a slave. He was lucky enough to be taken by the orphanage and then being adopted by a couple in Australia where he was taken to Tasmania and later became a successful businessman.

Commemorating his lost days and adoption he said. " I accepted that I was lost and that I could not find my way back home so I thought it was great  that I was going to Australia.

With everyday while he was growing up the desire of knowing his roots and from where he had come from also grew within him but sheer luck he only had vivid memories but not the name of the town he had born or had come from, He took the help of internet for clues. Smart Brierley muliplied the 14 hours he knew he had been on the train by the average speed of trains in India to determine how far he had travelled that night n 1986. He then drew a circle around Calcutta based on the radius and eventually found out that Khandwa was the town he was looking for.

Astonished of his discovery he zoomed and it all came up! he even found the waterfall where he used to play.

Can wait to walk down the memory lane, he flew to India, reached Khandwa and located a familiar home. His family had moved out but fortunately he had remembered their names .. With a little help of the passers by he was taken to the home where his mother lived.

At first he didn't recognize his mother, she on the other hand was stunned in to silence due to his reappearance. She told him how they searched endlessly for him they even met fortune tellers who told them that they would reunite one day.
The moment of unison

What a moment had it been for both the mother and son, for the mother who sent both her sons together and later only found one son dead and one son missing. The elder brother who had accompanied him on train, his dead body was found on railway tracks few days months after Brierley's.

He says, '' To this day i still can't believe I managed to find my family, considering India's population size and how young I was when I lost them". He also admitted that communicating with his new found family is difficult but by reading their facial expressions and hand movements and with little Hindi which he remembers still they make sense to him.

So yeah where there is a will there is always a way!
